IMAC with 10.6.8 here.
lost icon from toolbar for applications and can't figure out how to restore it.
nothing I try works,
can you help?

ah, the application folder, all applications.
I can open it from finder, just bugs me cause the icon was in the toolbar,
I must have accidentally moved it to trash.

application folder dragged to toolbar is empty!

Don't click and drag the Applications folder that is in your Home folder - Macintosh HD > Users > YourHomeFolder > Applications,, drag the Applications folder from Macintosh HD > Applications between the line towards the right-hand side of the Dock and the Trash can icon.

-You cannot drag the Applications folder from the sidebar of a Finder window
-You cannot drag it to a spot to the left of the line in the Dock, it has to be on the right-hand see of the line

Ahh you mean the Dock, which is at the bottom of the screen?

Try doing COMMAND+, (That Symbol)(make sure up the top left it says finder) and go into the sidebar option click the applications folder in the sidebar option click it so it is not on then click it again so it is on.. then drag the application folder into the dock..
