I am going to replace the hard drive in my Macbook Pro Mid 2009 with a 15 inch display. Is there any specific procedure for setting a drive up? Does the BIOS need to be setup to read the optical drive first?

Hello.

I assume this was answered in your other post?

FWIW - Macs don't have BIOS settings like PCs, so there aren't any settings to change. You simply select the drive to startup from in  > System Preferences... > Startup Disk. Or, you can startup holding the Option key, and you will see the Startup Manager where you can select the drive to startup from on the fly.

How to select a different startup disk

Yes it was, sort of. I ended up downloading a copy of Paragon Hard Disk Manager for Mac and reset the drive, allowing me to reset Bootcamp which is why I made inquires in the first place. This Macbook is the first foray into OS X based computers having worked with DOS based systems since 1987. I am learning from people like yourself as to what to do in these situations. Thanks!!
