Myst V - another one!

I have a problem with everything freezing.

At the beginning of the game when Atrus' daughter is talking to us, she turns and walks back into the plasma-thing with the tablet. The graphics freeze, but the sound continues until the end of her speech.

My cursor disappears. I have to shut down.

Any tips?

I've only had the game a couple of days, and apart from the first time I played it (it crashed and required a hard reset) I haven't had any problems ?

Have you got any further or is it still crashing ?

Now I can tell you...

I have been able to continue with Myst V ...but only...

.... when I started a new player.

I think there may be some kind of problem with the new 'saving without actually saving' feature. This is only mho ...I am new to mac and floundering somewhat...so it could be me. But to be less humble, I don't think so!

I am now stuck, despite the wonderful Coelho Buda's walkthrough (he's seen me through other games!) in Noloben. <sigh>

I hope it's ok for me to post a walkthrough link here ric. Please modify my post if not.

I've just completed the first section...won't say what so as not to spoil it for anyone else...

...post's fine, this is an easy going place !

I have another walkthrough but I am determined not to read it !!!

Spoils the fun, but it's nice to have it 'just' in case ;-)

I remember the one I had for Uru was a poem...literally! It was so clever and so very helpful too!

OK! I won't. I don't have much time for playing it...I reckon you will be finished before i am.

I think I have to go back to the beginning anyway. I seem to have missed bits as I cannot get the door to open in Noloben it's those wretched turning topped stones...I think I have them all aright...but will the door on that Island lab open? Will it heck as like.
