My applications folder has disappeared

I looked this up on line, and downloaded the shor or Hide invisibles. BUT!! how does this utility work? Am now on the phone with Applecare, nd they are searching for an answer. I can open my applications that are in the dock. The folder icon has just hidden iteslf (could not see it on my back up drive, either).

When you have the application running, check its preferences. I don't use it, but as with most or all Mac apps, you're bound to set your preferences via that menu. Once the application is running, the Help menu might also provide you assistance and answers to your questions, such as how the application works.
