Can't Put FireFox into Applications Folder....

I have Mac OsX 10.2.8. I have tried to upgrde to 10.4.8 but it won't let me do that either. Is the folder somehow locked? How do I unlock it? Thank You.

Is it Firefox or OS X update? Your subject heading talks about Firefox, but the body of the posting only refers to OS X.

Do you have administrator permission to install apps and OS updates? If your user account does not have those privileges, then log out and log back as the administrator.

Note the word "either"... I can not seem to put anything in the applications folder. I DO have all privileges ont his computer. I had no problem upgrading my laptop.
