So I've just recently replaced the battery and SSD in my mid-2012 MacBook Pro and have been enjoying the upgrades immensely. However, a few days ago my son dropped my computer off of a countertop, and now charging and battery is all messed up. It charges extremely slowly and dies almost as soon as it's off the charger even though it's showing 100% charge. I can't see any visible damage from the fall and I opened up the back to see whether there's any obvious damage in the battery area but found nothing. I have tried to reset SMC and PRAMS but nothing has changed.

Any advice for me?

Hello and welcome.

Maybe a cable connection has become loose. Have you tried reseating the battery and other cables?

The drop could have cause some form of internal damage to the replacement battery if the Mac works fine when connected to AC, other than charging the battery.
