Warm greetings.
When I try to log into an internet account, a box has started popping up asking me
to enter my computer password.
When I do, and try to log into the internet account, the box pops up again, and again.
How do I stop this request??
It does not do this on log or after 'sleeping' as I have unticked the 'require password' request 'after sleep or screen saver.

Hello and welcome.

A few troubleshooting questions for you:
-Which version of OS X/macOS?
-Which version of Safari?
-If you look in Safari > Preferences... > Passwords do you see comething like this:

2947

-Is your Mac's user account name henryv?

OK, that make the other prompt legitimate.

-What happens in you try to use Touch ID when that box comes up?
-Is this a website that you have saved the username and password for in Safari previously?

This may be the new feature in 10.14.4 Mojave and Safari, that streamlines website logins using Password AutoFill. If you enter your password, it may ask you if you want to use Touch ID from then on for that website.

This is happening on my MacBook Pro, so no Touch ID.
They are all long standing accounts I am logging into.

Hmmm...which model MacBook Pro? Your screenshot shows that Touch ID is available.

You could try entering your password in the Safari Preferences box in your screenshot. Then, visit the site again and see if it prompts you.

Also, are you using an iCloud account, and possibly have Keychain enabled to sync via iCloud?

I tried entering my password but it made no difference.
I did not know you had Thumb id on MacBook?
Yes I think Keychain is enabled to sync to cloud.
I unticked the keychain but it still asks for the computer password.

Yes, that model has a Touch ID sensor built-in to the power button at the right of the Touch Bar. ;)

Use Touch ID on your Mac

You could try another browser like Google Chrome and see if the issue happens with it.

I enabled the Touch I.D but it still asks for password or Touch now, when I try to log into a web site.
Any ideas??

OK, a few other things to look at/try:

-Do you have FileVault enabled in System Preferences...?
-You mentioned you looked in the iCloud preferences and Safari was checked. When you unchecked it, did you enter your user password when it prompted you? It would then turn off Safari iCloud syncing, and may resolve the issue.
-Do you have a current Time Machine or other backup of your data?
-Do you happen to have an Apple Store nearby that you could visit?

Still working on it,

Firevault = OFF
When I uncheck Safari in iCloud preferences it does NOT ask for the Password.
No Time Machine.
No Apple Store near me.
