macbook keeps flashing up are you sure you want to shut down prompt

I am having an issue with an unwanted prompt: Are you sure that you want to shut down? If I don't hit cancel, it shuts down. The prompt seems to come up random;y. Ideas? Thanks in advance.

Personally I would take it into your nearest Apple store as it sounds to me like a logic board, issue possibly your accelerator is messed up.

Hi and welcome.

I assume you have a portable - i.e. MacBook/MacBook Pro/MacBook Air. It sounds to me like it's the top case/power button. Have you ever spilled anything on the keyboard?

I second the motion to take it to a Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Center.
