Macbook Display Distorted after fall

After it fell down, my macbook (aluminium model model A1278, late 2008, running on 10.6.8) display is doing strange things: First everything had a pink touch, fonts had kind of a 3D effect and the whole screen is shifted about 1/2 inch to the bottom - that means on top, there's about 1 cm of black and the lower 1/2 inch of the screen-image is missing.

The image also burns in the screen - the last image displayed is always visible transparently and the Finder bar is distorted.

I already tried resetting the PMU, NVRAM and PRAM - didn't help.

Apple hardware test is giving me error 4SNS/1/40000000: TB1T-128.000

Now another weird thing occured: When I opened a apple support page it looked heavily distorted and animated, but as soon as I activated the dock, it went back to normal...

Any ideas? It seems to me that the LEDs are still alright. Could it be the cable or do you know any other way of resetting the display?
Your help is deeply appreciated.

Sounds like a hardware problem, time to take it to and Apple Service Centre near you.

I can't diagnose your laptop without seeing it, but it *sounds like* your screen is broken and needs replacement. This is the case 9/10 times. From where I stand, you have 3 options:

1. Replace the entire display assembly- Expensive, but relatively simple to do and only need a Phillips and a torx screwdriver.
2. Replace the LCD itself- While cheaper, it's also time consuming, very difficult, requires heat gun, pry tools, x-acto knife, etc... AND can cause further damage on your MB if not careful) If you go this route, be prepared to also replace the glass. Even if it's not broken, you just might break it in the process of trying to pry it off.
3. You also have the 3rd option of taking to an Apple specialist. You don't need to visit a "genius" to get your screen replaced- any certified Apple Technician can pull this one off for half the cost of an Apple Store. I recommend this option as it will cost around the same price of replacing the display yourself, but you have the assurance of having a professional do the work and warranty it.

Interestingly, now everything is back to normal without any repair or replacement...
:)
Every display-failure disappeared one by one. It seems like my Macbook just needed some time to recover from the bike accident like I did...
I wish every hardware failure could disappear just like that.
