External display for MacBook Pro (2011)

I have poor eyesight and use dictation but need a larger Monitor or TV that I can connect. Any advice much appreciated. Uscus

Do you have a HDMI port on your MBP?
If so you can use that to connect to a monitor or TV if not you would need a mini display port to HDMI cable.
Or you could use a mini display port to VGA cable to connect to a VGA monitor
