I am trying to use an HP25BW 1920x1080 monitor to mirror from a late 2012 MacBookPro
Retina 15". The monitor is attached via HDMI. The arrangement is set to
"mirror' [maybe this is the problem?]
My problem: On the external monitor, the desktop is displayed too big - that is, the menu
bar at the top of the desktop window is "off the top" and the dock at the bottom
has its icon's tops only visible. It's just slightly too large to "fit" on the
external display. The desktop on the MBP is normal [not too big]. Monitor
control panels do not fix this issue, at least the control panels that I can
find.
"in the old days" the monitor control panel had a large number of different resolutions/display settings that would effect this attribute, but that does not seem present in the newest OS.
