Please help. I was updating Mac and plug fell out and comp. shut off cuz the battery is fried. It doesnt work without being plugged in. The startup screen is blue and has grey box that says Mac Os X and the pinwheel is spinning but nothing happens tried restarting 4 times. This time screen has been stuck for 20 mins . Is there a way to get to my desktop again

You did backup before doing a System Upgrade, didn't you?
Go back to the DVD, boot with the C key down. See if you can do an install in place.
If not then go in via another Mac using Target Disc Mode and get your User Space.
Then do a clean install and migrate your files back in.
If this is gobbitygook you will you need to take it to your closest Mac Fix-it people.
