Lost Hard Drive Space

I recently exported a slideshow from iPhoto (version 8.1.2) to QuickTime move. The completed movie/slideshow takes up 1.26 GB on my hd. In the process of exporting the slide show, though, my hard drive when from having about 25 GB available to now less than 15 GB. What happened to those other 9 GB and how can I get them back? Is there a cache somewhere I need to delete? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Where did you save the project to, did the slideshow save to home > movies? check this older for a copy if this was not your destination.

You could run Grand Perspective over your Home Folder

I saved it in Pictures > iPhoto Slideshows. That was the default folder that came up when I did the export.
