Keyboard Viewer

I have lost control of keyboard viewer. It keeps shifting from one selected language to some other. For example, I want to type some Greek. I select Greek, but when I move to the Word document, the keyboard moves back to English. This doesn't happen with TextEdit. I have used this in the past with no problem.
What is going on? This should be an OS problem but reloading and restarting doesn't seem to help.

Hi there,

have you updated any software since it changed, if you see what I mean !

Try creating a new user account and see if it works in that.

I'm afraid I don't have Word so can't try and simulate the problem you are having.

I do not have this problem in either Word 2004 or Word 2008. I could write in scandinavian and greek with no problems.

Not that that helps you much. I would have to research later what file is responsible for storing those settings. No file in ~/Library lept out at me as obvious. Do you have the same problem when you logon as a different user?
