Is the Apple Watch Water Resistant or Waterproof?

I am looking to purchase Apple Watch. I was going through the specs on Apple's website and couldn't find any information about whether or not it is water resistant and/or water proof. If you find the answer, please forward me the URL of a website that provides this information.

Hello and welcome.

From the Apple Watch - Health & Fitness page footnote #2:

"Apple Watch is splash and water resistant but not waterproof. You can, for example, wear and use Apple Watch during exercise, in the rain, and while washing your hands, but submerging Apple Watch is not recommended. Apple Watch has a water resistance rating of IPX7 under IEC standard 60529. The leather bands are not water resistant."
