Long story short, I was working on trying to remove the adhesive off my old battery and I accidentally punctured and sliced into the battery, peeling the outer covering a little bit. Is the battery safe to use? The battery still functions and charges it's just punctured a little bit and the slice doesn't seem to expose that much. Will this battery blow up or cause harm or can I cover the slice with some packing tape and still be safe? I have some photos attached that you can refer to.

Hello,

I STRONGLY recommend that you do not use the battery in that state or attempt to repair it with packing tape. There actually could be a puncture in the battery cells themselves, which can be toxic and actually cause a fire.

I suggest having the battery replaced by an Apple-certified repair shop.
