Installing mac OS10.5.8

Hi guys, I really don't know much about macs so help me out here please.

I have an imac, relatively old I think, imac5,1
Atm it is running MAC OS 10.5.6
Ok, I am trying to install OS 10.5.8, through software install,
As it goes to download it comes up this message;

"The update "MAC OS X Update Combined" can't be saved.
You do not have appropriate access privlieges.

The installer package has been moved to the Trash.
To try again, open the package from the finder."

Can any one please help me out with this issue, I really need to update this &&& cant afford a new computer haha

Take the top hit 'Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo ...') and install this manually it works just fine.
