"Installer" request pop-up

Everyday and periodically during the day I have a "white hard drive icon" pop on screen named "Installer" that is requesting permission to Authenticate by entering my password. I keep throwing this in the Trash because I do not know what this is. I am getting fed up with doing this often. Can anyone advise? How can I stop this? SnapShot Image attached.

I just did a google search of "tmpinstallmc", and came up with quite a few useful "hits":

It looks like this rogue software can be detected by ClamXAv, and then use AdwareMedic. Here are two links that talk about this:

By the way, ClamXAv is an excellent product. I just ran it to verify whether everything is OK (and it is). It's an excellent program to have in your arsenal.
