Importing external drive date...

after my HD died on my Ibook G4, I sent it in and it was repaired. Luckily I had a clone backup on a 160 GB Acomdata external drive. How do I import programs such as Microsoft Office?? Of course they didn't reinstall it on my new internal drive.

sorry for the noob question. I'm sure it's obvious.:(

Hi there,

the first choice would be to reinstall from the original disks...

If for some reason you don't have the original disks then you could try just copying the Applications you want from the Applications folder on the external drive to the Applications folder on the internal drive.

This will work with some Applications, but some will need to be 'installed' via the original disks.
