Hi,

I hope someone can help me, I got a iMac G5 and was working fine in the morning but in the afternoon, when I try turn it on, appear some lines in the screen and it freeze. I try for several times and was the same, so I took it to a mac repair store, they told me that the logic board was damage, and the piece was $ 1,276.30

So I said no, but when I bring the mac home, I give it another try and it allow me to log in like for less than 4 minutes, then it freeze again and when I restart It allow me again to log in.

Hope you can help me because im not sure that this is a logic board problem the error that appear was this bellow

Thank you so much for your help.

Paola.

$1,276.30 for a logic board? You could buy a new Mac for less! If by any chance you're able to log back in to your iMac, you might want to attempt backing up your files if you haven't already. If so, try reinstalling the OS. If indeed you need a logic board you'd probably be better off buying one from Ebay but you might want to call a few Mac repair shops to find out how much they'll charge to replace it first.

Thanks that was my thought exactly, i rather bought a new one. I already backup my files, the problem is that it only stay on for 4 minutes or less :( so I can not boot from the OS DVD a friend told me it may be a electric resistance (im not sure if that the English term).
Thanks for you opinion :D
