SOLVED iMac 27 inch frozen on black screen after downloading Bug Sur

I just downloaded Big Sur to my 27 inch IMac 2015 version..the downloaded seemed successful until I went to log in to my account and the screen has frozen on a black screen with my mouse cursor visible
