ibook G3 freezes during start up

Hi guys
I have a G3 ibook running MAC os X 10.3.
I went online and ran the "software upgrade". The upgrade for MAC OS X failed and my ibook crashed.

Since then, I have been unable to restart my mac. The computer begins the start up process, but freezes at "Login Window Starting".
Any ideas?

Here are some Panther Maintenance Tips.

Do you have the Panther install discs that came with your Mac?

If there is a "Hardware Test" disc, pop that in and run the test and let us know how it went.
