hello everyone hope all is well .......having unusual responses in itunes some chapters in audiobooks will not play completely through ....at first i thought the download was corrupted so deleted files, returning to different book im listening to, nothing until chapter 13 the same thing happened half way through and now the app refuses to stay on the chosen chapter and drops to the next chapter .........checked for virus / malware nothing so far......is there any way to check itunes and the book files for problems .....the files are mp3 .......do these interference foot prints speak to similar problems that some else has dealt with ........
thanks

Hello again,

Hope you are well also!

-Which version of OS X and iTunes?
-Do you have an iOS device that you could download the audiobook to and test with?

It sounds to me like the actual audiobook file is corrupted. Since you deleted it and re-downloaded it, the source file is probably at fault. It could also be a failing spot on your hard drive. Are you having any other slowness/hanging issues?

hey c,
no slowness, no virus according to 2 different virus apps malware bytes, which i keep on the computer and avast which i use and then uninstall and am using a transcend external ssd
didnt redownload, the first one wasnt something i wanted to keep this is a second occurrence from a different download. I listened with no problems until chap. 13 then shut down came back to it later and the remember position put me at the last place and then it jumped to a different chapter so i went back and skipped ahead a bit and it was working fine, paused and then returned started to play and it went to the next chapter again, 14, tried to get back to chap. 13 and now i tunes refuses to play any of chap. 13,
have been looking around and found dougs apple script for truncated files http://dougscripts.com/itunes/index.php seems easy enough but never having dealt w/apple script im afraid to screw something up it seems that it would determine by elimination what the problem is. do you have any information on this .....
good to talk with you again hope all is well ....

-Good there aren't any other issues with performance.
-Is this audiobook from the iTunes Store or another site imported into iTunes? If the latter, try playing it in QuickTime Player or another app.
-No, I don't have any experience with those scripts, although I have heard of them before. If you do decide to try any of them out, make sure you have a current Time Machine or other backup. ;)
