How to reduce file size of photo's taken with iPhone7+ ?

I have an iPhone7+.

Photo's taken are about 2MB in size.

This is too large to send several of them as attachments to emails.

How to change my iPhone7+'s settings to take photo's that result
in file sizes of about 600KB ?

I want to set my iPhone7+ to stop taking 2MB pics
and instead to have it take 500KB (or so) pics.

I want to take a pic and email it to myself without
having to choose what resolution/file size I want.

OK, thanks.

I don't know of any settings in iOS to accomplish that - I believe that the ~2 MB size is the minimum. You will need to post-process them to reduce the file size.
