Hi everybody, I'm new here and totally Mac/computer inept/probably just all around stupid so, if I'm asking something totally obvious and idiotic please, please forgive me.
Anyway, my family and I just got a Mac Mini about a month ago. And we had our Verizon DSL set up and we were enjoying it, except periodically it'd ask us if we'd like to stay connected.
I, being the brilliant computer-genius that I am  , decided to attempt to fix this. I don't know what I did, but somehow our computer no longer had an Internet connection. I, later that day, somehow, restored it.. Except now, if somebody is not on the Internet for a certain amount of time, it just shuts off and needs to be told to connect again.
So, basically, I'm wondering:
1) How do I get it to always be connected?
2) How do I get it to stop asking me if I want to stay connected?
And on a slightly different note:
1) How can I get my Adium (assuming any of you use it) to not sign me off after being inactive/idle for a while?
Any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks in advanced.
