help with mail

trying to send an email now.. the computer just froze.. the rainbow spinning wheel keeps spinning. I can use Safari but can't shut down any programs. Can someone help? thanks much

Click the apple and choose force quit. But do not force quit Finder.

Thats a good start, now I would open your applications folder in the dock and run disk utility to repair permissions.

The button will change to Relaunch and it if fine to do that, if Finder is the App that is Not Responding.
