G,day look people i have a problem with my macbook pro theres a rattle noise coming from the right side, and also how can i reset my mac??? i went to a mac dealer and he said something like "right hand, thumb on opt +apple+R pointers+ p little finger" i have tried this but no good...

He means to hold the option/apple/p keys during startup and keep holding it down until the computer start-up chime two or more times:

Is that what you tried?
My PowerBook sometimes rattles on the right when I have a bad CD in the drive.

yesssssss thats it. now i have no cd in, but it still rattles sounds like somethings lose

in it, should i take to the apple people ?

by reseting will i lose things like movies i made and files etc ???

Hi there,

that will just resest the PRAM you will not lose any files...

If it still rattles after that then take it back to the Apple Store for them to check out.

Is it the fan rattling ?

Does the ratting sound sound like machine gun firing? I don't believe there is/are fans on the right side. It sounds like the CD drive.

ummmm yeh might put a cd in and then see if it still rattles
