Entourage fills my mailbox with emails that were previously downloaded

Every couple of days, Entourage on my laptop downloads hundreds of emails that were previously downloaded. This is extremely annoying. It doesn't happen on my Mac desktop, and the account settings are identical. Anyone know why this might be happening and what I can do about it?
