hi, ive got serious problems with my email, after getting my macbook i tries to set up my account, i can recieve mail but not send, i could write a mail but when i tried to send it said there was a smtp issue, i am sure the smtp details are correct, it has now created another problem, i can write a new mail, but, the send icon isnt highlighted so, i cant click on it, any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks

The best thing is to retrace your steps for your mail account set up. The SMTP issue indicates that the server name most likely is incorrect. So, please check with your ISP and see what those settings must be. For example, Road Runner uses a standard SMTP server pattern. It's in the form of smtp-server.<your region/city>.rr.com. Other providers are likely to have their settings posted on their web site.
