I have an eMac OS X 10.4.11, it is great and i love it. Just lately though it began to run very sluggish and taking a while to load documents files etc. Even safari is running slow now.

I want to just clean things up and organize so i get the most out of my free space and hopefully increases the speed.

Any info would be helpful, obviously i'm not the most computer literate person but i'm not an idiot either. Thanks for any help

yeah thanks i read through it some good things. I downloaded some more of the Internet servers, that helped speed up the loading of sites. I still want to clean up my desktop, i guess i have to buy something to defrag everything. Not sure i wanna spend the money though. Thanks for the help

There seems to be opposing opinions when it comes to doing a defrag on a Mac.
Here's an interesting post on the subject-
