Ejecting disc

I cannot get a disc into my mac, it ejects it everytime. It's not the disc I've tried many different types. Can't find anything in "help" Am I missing something ?

Hello and welcome.

Unfortunately, that usually means the optical drive is failing.

-What model Mac do you have?
-Do you still have warranty/AppleCare left?

Thanks for that Cory, I'm thinking the same, the macs a 24" about 6 years old so no warranty left. Don't use the drive that much so pretty pissed that it's given up the ghost.

Hi,

If you are not going to replace the drive, why not think about an external USB they are very inexpensive.

No problem Keith. I have seen that issue many times over the years.

I would follow oldscribe's suggestion, that's probably the way to go. It's not really worth getting the internal replaced at this point, due to hassle and cost.
