DVD Region

Hi there everyone I have a question about the DVD player app.

It has asked me which region I would like (I am in UK, so region 2 is mine) and that I can only change the region 5 times.

I personally think that it is stupid and should be multi-region.

Does anyone know how to either 'hack' the program so I can change regions as many time and when I like (so I can order DVDs from the US and play them!) or does anyone know of a utility that lets me bypass this silly silly rule.

Any help would be appreciated.



edit: I have Mac OSX Tiger 10.4.6

Hi there,

can you go to System Profiler and then click on the Hardware-->Disk Burning and post what type of DVD drive you have...the top line !

Hi Ric and thanks for the reply.

This is my DVD model copied direct from system profiler:

MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857

It's the 4x one in the MacBook Pro 15" model.

Hope you can help me!
