Hi all,

I have just purchased a Mac mini after only ever using windows (not sure I like not having a disk drive !) I have tried to install a Kodak printer to which I needed the drivers from kodaks website then I had a notification stating it couldn't download as was not Apple associated, I did still find how to download it but it also downloaded - command line developer tools - is this normal ? As I really have no idea since owning my old windows pc for the last 14 years and I am no computer genius !

Thanks

You wrote you downloaded the drivers from the official Kodak website so they should be fine as long as they are for Mac OS X. Were you able to install the Printer fine & get it to print? If so, I would just ignore the Developer Tools as they are what they say, for Developers. The main thing is to get your printer going ...

Hello and welcome.

-Which model Mac mini...the current shipping version?
-Which version of OS X - 10.10.x?
-What model and how old is the Kodak printer?

Mac OS X includes printer drivers for all supported printers that Apple gets from the manufacturers. If there isn't one, then the printer may not be supported and/or be too old. Here is a list:

OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download

Unfortunately, I don't see any Kodak printers listed. We'll see if we can find a work-around for you.

First of all, there is a hard disk drive inside your Mac Mini.

Secondly, here are the results of a google search for "Kodak Printer Drivers for Macs":

https://www.google.com/webhp?source...v=2&ie=UTF-8#q=Kodak+Printer+Drivers+for+Macs

Apparently, there are Mac printer drivers for "various/some" Kodak printers, but they do not work with Yosemite, OS 10.10.x. This link (contained within the link above) should be what you need:
