Took video on my camera on holiday as well as photos, when I put the card in the back of the computer photos download fine. But films don’t, I cannot work out why, . I know the filming is there as I can playback on the camera, but just cannot transfer it to either the Mac or my iPad. Can anyone advise in simple terms what I could try please.

Hi,

Can I ask a few questions.
1) Are you are using Image Capture or other software.
2) Also what is the camera make/model and the Mac you are downloading to.
3) Last question is this the first time you have had issues downloading video's.

No was not using anything like that. The camera is a Panasonic lumix, lastly I have never downloaded videos onto the Mac or iPad, both are relatively new. Thanks for any help

Try the following.

1. Open image Capture its built in software on your Mac.
2. In the greyed left hand box you should see two headings. a) Devices and b) Shared.
3. Now insert the memory card , and under the devices heading you should see the memory card listed and all images and videos will load in the right hand box.
4. Click on all the images and videos you want to download.
5. Choose the location to save to then click download.

I followed your instructions and after a bit of head scratching because I am new to the Mac, I got it. All videos now downloaded. Thank you so much, really helpful. Have a good Sunday .
