I am using an iMac OS X 10.6.3 but this is something I experience with all the Macs I've had. It's really irritating.
When I am writing a letter and I want to write the date after my address, I type for example
18th May 2010
which is usually how we would write it in the UK. My Mac comes up with its own suggestion (the US way) and I end up with
18th May 2010-5-18
I have tried Apple Menu > System Preferences, Language & Text, Formats and I've checked the correct boxes for the UK but I still get this annoying suggestion. What am I missing?
