Corrupt Contacts

I cannot add a new Group without it being deleted when I switch back to All Contacts. At other times I can create the Group, add a few names switch back to All Contacts and the Group will disappear. Sometimes when I start a new group it ends up in the Contact list as a contact. Along with all of this some of the Contact will completely disappear when moving back and forth between All Contacts and the new Group.

If this is an iCloud Account, Log out of iCloud and then Back in.

You may need to Export an Archive, remove the current AddressBook Folder in Library, then Import them again.

~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook

Ensure you have a backup of the whole Folder!

NOTE: This will loose all your groups!!!

I'm not using iCloud. In the latest update the Address Book is now Contacts, but is the same I guess. I cannot even set up a group because when I go back to All Contacts after setting up a Group it is automatically deleted.

I wonder if I need to set up iCloud in order for Contacts to work properly?
