SOLVED Changing keyboard?

I've a 2021 24" M1 iMac and the space bar on the superthin keyboard is starting to stick. I've still got the keyboard from my prior iMac, it looks the same as the new one except it uses external batteries instead of internal. But when I try to use it with the M1 (yes I turned the 'new' one off first!) the M1 doesn't recognize it.

Is there a way to persuade the M1 to hunt for a keyboard other than just the default way that isn't working?

Hi Cory, yes I found the answer in System Preferences>Keyboard>Set Up Bluetooth Keyboard; it didn't work the first time I tried it, but when I typed the security code on the new keyboard, it worked. I thought I posted this as an answer to my original post, but again I must have missed some detail because it's not here now. Thanks for checking.
