Is there a way to disable caps lock on a Bluetooth keyboard? System preferences works for a USB keyboard, but does nothing for a wireless.

Hello and welcome,

-Which model Mac?
-Which version of OS X/macOS?
-Which brand/model Bluetooth keyboard?
-Do you have both a USB and Bluetooth keyboard connected simultaneously?

You should be able to disable the Caps Lock key in System preferences:

 > System Preferences... > Keyboard > Keyboard tab > Modifier Keys... > Caps Lock Key: > change to No Action

That works on my Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad.

It's a macmini running Mavericks, with a USB keyboard attached. The BT keyboard is a little Logitech. Disabling the capslock key in system prefs works on the the USB kb, but has no effect of the BT. I did a little Googling around and found there is a free app called Seil that will allow disabling the caps lock key on BT keyboards. The key must be disabled in system prefs first, and Seil must be running. It turns caps lock into a delete key. If it is desired that the delete key do nothing, Seil allows the key code to be changed to 110, which is PC specific and does nothing on a Mac.
