I bought a cleaned, used Macbook Pro and hooked it to my old desktop with a larger HD. As I saw it wouldn't fit, rather than wait another hour, I unplugged the desktop (dumb). The new HD is full, and I can't drag anything to the trash, and when I try to erase the HD, the erase button is grayed out. Programs seem to work, except for mac help. I've tried booting from the disc too, with the same results.

How can I erase it and start over?

Thanks in advance for the help!

The laptop is:

2.2 duo core
2 gb 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
OSX 10.5
