Hi All,

Im hoping someone is able to help here,

I have an iMac 27" (2014) with a 1TB Fusion drive.

My query is, am I able to split the fusion drive and install Windows 7 on the SSD portion (128Gb) of it only.

I do not need MAC OS at all and ideally would want to remove that so it's just Windows 7, I understand this is not possible using bootcamp so can use a USB installer.

I can use the iMac with only 128gb SSD and the 1TB sata does not need to be formatted if it causes issues as I have an external SSD im planning to use for storage.

All help will be appreciated.

I think it is possible to do what you require.

I have never split a fusion drive, but a little googling tells me that it can be done.
I have installed windows 10 on an SSD in an iMac and booted into it with no problems.
I would check on what divers you may need for the windows environment before proceeding.
Be methodical in your preparation.
