Blurry icons

Very strange! The icon for my web browser (Firefox) and another icon in my dock started getting rather blurry. It's an easy fix. I took them off the dock and dragged the icons from the applications folder to the dock and both are now as sharp as new. But what on earth could cause that? Okay, there is a connection now that I think of it. The other icon is for a password manager that acts as an add-on in Firefox and I recently updated it. But still ...

Some software may create there Icons "on the fly" using drawing code these could become blurry over time.

You have it in one, if both these 3rd party software icons were still operational in the dock and you upgraded there respective software then they become an old icon and possibly a little blurry as you describe it.

I took them off the dock and dragged the icons from the applications folder to the dock and both are now as sharp as new.

You have now deleted the old icons and replaced them with the new softwares icon

update the browser if needed thats what i did and then you could need to go into system preferences and then look at the screen resolution and see wether that is to the recommended resolution
