Apple Homepage

OS High Sierra 10.13.4.
Safari 11.1.
I would normally have Safari open with Google.co.uk but it now opens with the Apple Homepage. I go into Safari Preferences and change Homepage to Google.co.uk but it gets replaced by apple.com/startpage. How can I stop this?

What happens if you use another browser, say Google Chrome, Firefox, or Opera? Does the home page you input remain that way with any of those other browsers?

Chrome, Opera & Firefox are all Ok. It's Safari that's the problem.
