Hey everyone,

I’ve been having some issues with TikTok on my iPhone recently. It’s been freezing up sometimes, especially when scrolling through videos, and sometimes it takes forever to load content. I’ve tried restarting the app, reinstalling it, and even updating my iPhone, but it’s still happening.

Has anyone else dealt with this, or know if there’s a fix? I can’t tell if it’s something to do with the app or maybe my iPhone’s settings. Would love to hear if anyone has found a solution or is having the same issue.

Thanks!

I finally found an answer for it:

Turns out the issue was mostly related to the app cache and Low Power Mode. After I cleared the cache from TikTok settings (Profile > Settings > Free up space) and turned off Low Power Mode, the freezing and slow loading pretty much stopped.

Also noticed that switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data helped sometimes, so it might’ve been a network thing too. Just wanted to share this in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

To fix TikTok freezing and slow loading, you can try a few things. Start by clearing the TikTok cache through Profile > Settings > Free Up Space > Clear Cache. Make sure your network connection is strong, either Wi-Fi or mobile data. You can also try disabling Background App Refresh for TikTok in Settings > General > Background App Refresh. Check your iPhone storage under Settings > General > iPhone Storage to ensure you have enough free space. If none of this works, try uninstalling and reinstalling TikTok after restarting your phone. If the issue persists, contacting TikTok support might help.

Thanks for adding those extra tips! 🙌 I actually hadn’t thought about Background App Refresh, that’s a good one to try. My issue mostly cleared up after wiping the cache and disabling Low Power Mode, but I’ll definitely keep the storage and refresh settings in mind if it happens again.

Also, for anyone using TikTok 18, the same fixes usually apply there too — clearing cache, switching networks, and making sure your phone isn’t running in Low Power Mode can help with freezing or slow loading. Since TikTok 18 has heavier content and sometimes takes more bandwidth, a stable connection makes a big difference. Hopefully this thread helps anyone dealing with either the regular TikTok app or TikTok 18!
