Add User to Workgroup in Shell

How may I add a user to Workgroup using Shell?:confused: because, for example, I can edit the file "/etc/passwd” and create a directory into it, but i'm not sure about how can I add new users to Workgroup using Shell, could you help me?

Hi there and welcome,

It's not something I have ever had the need to do...

But I shall certainly have a look into it.

Is there any particular reason for using the shell, can you not use the Server Admin Software ?

Hi there Ric:p, my particular reason for using the shell is because i access through ssh client of Windows. i don´t have graphic remote access:(.

Interesting I will look at this tomorrow if I get time on one of my XServe machines.
You would need to be quite careful setting permissions etc
I often refer to..
