Acrobat Reader for Mac

I couldn't download a medical report as a PDF file
It said Safari cannot open this page
So, I downloaded Acrobat Reader for Mac
Still says cannot open this page !

What's my problem ?

My pdf's all open in 'Preview'

Somebody told me think it was called 'I Love PDF' is free and isn't as much as a hassle as Acrobat Reader is.
I was finally able to download it. Complicated and don't know if I can remember how I did it.

I went to my Windows computer and downloaded the file and sent it to myself to a gmail account, then, using Apple, I sent it to another mail account, then I sent it back to gmail . I bounced it back and forth till I was able to open it on the Apple machine. LOL

Don't know why it wouldn't let me open it in the first place or 'save as' . Right clicking was useless couldn't even copy and paste it.
I got around it somehow. Hope , I remember how I did it.

windows pc isn't hooked up to a printer by the way. Only the Apple is
