My macbook pro reveals that it has the Yosemite 10.90 version.
I thought 10.9 was Mavericks. Update to 10.10. is refused.
Any ideas how to solve this?

Hello and welcome.

That is strange. Follow the link below and verify your build number and there are screenshots of the About This Mac boxes for Yosemite and Mavericks. It will say Yosemite if it is 10.10.x and it will say OS X if it is 10.9.x (Mavericks).

Find the OS X version and build information on your Mac

There isn't a Yosemite 10.90. If you indeed have 10.9.x, then you need to download the full Yosemite installer from the App Store, not an updated, and install it.

Let us know if yours looks different than those on the Apple page and we'll figure it out.

thanks Cary,
see attached screen grab.
Tried to upgrade to Y 10.10.3 but it says it need 10.10. to do that or it says a newer version exists (or similar wording).
Your suggestions are appreciated.

That is a strange one indeed.

-Have you ever installed an OS X beta?

There is a fix here, but make sure you have a Time Machine or other backup to protect your data before proceeding:

Stuck in OS X 10.90 (14A299l)

If you actually have Mavericks installed, change the number 10.9.5 or whatever version you had. The install should go ahead then.
