Yellow minimize button is gone

How do I get the yellow minimize screen button back. I was using the Open Office text set up that comes with the Mac. I must have hit some button to lose it. I have the button elsewhere, like here. From PC to Mac is hell, but it has not broken down as my PC's always did. Thank you.

Try this.
1) Go to your Mac HD and then select Applications
then select Utilities. Then select Disk Utility and click Mac HD and highlight it and then Repair Permissions.
2) Once completed turn the Mac of and reboot.

Have you gone into full screen mode? If you hover your mouse at the very top of the screen the menu will pop down and then there is a blue button on the extreme right.

Normally on the Mac if a button is greyed out then it does not apply in the current context, perhaps thats it.

A little more info might help.

PC to Windows 8.1 is hell, to the Mac is refreshing by comparison.
