Hi all

I have a folder that gets automounted on client machines by my 10.4.10 server. I want this folder to be writable by a particular group and readable by people in other groups, it is a folder for a particular group of users. However, I only ever get read permission even whenever I boot up, even when I login on my client machine as a member of the group with write permission.

Does anyone know how to get write permission on an automounted sharepoint from a a client?

If I understand your problem right. I am going to assume the folder is on the server. I am also going to assume that you know some about the workgroup manager.

In Work Manager there is a sharing icon which will give you sharing points if the file is not shared yet you will need to click ALL

Find the file you want to share ...
<---this section works with Share Points Selected or ALL selected --->

Under Access you can set the Read Write, View etc there for the server. Then under general you can share the point.

But that is where you want your permissions set also there is a cog toward the bottom of the window that you can propagate these permissions to all files and folders inside the selected File

Let me know if that helps

The propagation does not help. I think it is possible that you cannnot automount with anything other than read permissions. Maybe you need a password to be entered to get the write access?

Thanks anyway,
