White screen, no loading

I turn my laptop on and i just get a white screen it wont load up it just stays white with grey apple and loading sign??? my life is on the harddrive! please help can i get it all back, i just want to turn my laptop on! iv taken out the battery and left it, iv tried everything.#please help!
