Which Mac Pro will be faster?

Hi, I am going to be adding another mac at work and am wondering which mac will be faster? My IT people are not too familiar with Macs and not much help :-/ Thanks in advance!


Option 1: Mac pro with 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors with 2GB 800MHz Ram

Option 2: Mac pro with 1 3.2GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon processor with 8GB ram (4x2GB)

On first look, I would go with Option 2, if model ID is as below.

Is it this:
-Option 1: Mac Pro (Early 2008) MacPro3,1
-Option 2: Mac Pro (Mid 2010 or Mid 2012) MacPro5,1

if you are just using it for work and not pleasure which is kind of what the macs are intended to be used for then you will probably thrive with the option 2

As said looking at your choices No2 seems the better option.
